The Serge Dual Universal Slope Generator (DUSG for short) is one of the first multi-function modules. It shows off the Serge concept of “patch programmability” where one module can perform different functions depending on how it is patched, including to itself. The DUSG can be an envelope generator, a slew, an LFO, a VCO, and even an integer divider, waveshaper/filter and envelope follower. The link below (click through if you are reading the tooltip) goes to a series of videos I created demonstrating these various functions. The DUSG is the forefather of the popular Make Noise Maths module, as well as the Befaco Rampage and others. Random*Source makes up-to-date versions of the DUSG in 3U (Eurorack) and 4U (Serge) formats.
